Welcome to Plumtree Child International!

You might be wondering about our name and what we are all about. Do you remember the Disney movie "Mulan"? The theme was "The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all." The "Mu" part of that name refers to plum tree parts, the tree, the fruit, but most significantly to the flowering blossom. The ancient Chinese proverb and symbolism of the plum tree is that even as winter tries to hold it's grip, during the coldest and harshest times of life's experience, the plum tree bursts forth with the earliest blossoms of spring. The moral is that even in the most dire existence and brutal conditions hope springs eternal and even the most difficult circumstances can and will be overcome. The beauty, strength, love and wisdom of life will triumph over pain, grief, poverty, abuse, neglect and a myriad of other traumatizing events in our individual lives.

The purpose of this website is to use our artistic talents to help children that have been traumatized. There are many children world wide who are suffering the affects of abuse, neglect, poverty, hunger and disease and many others who have been injured or left orphaned because of accidents or war. It is our goal to help as many children as possible through our own projects and also through raising awareness and funds for some of the great children's hospitals and organizations that already exist.

Please feel free to look around the site, check out the projects we are currently working on or see where the money we have raised is being used. Our hope is to be able to produce beautiful art in a variety of mediums that you can enjoy in your home or office. From your purchases we will then contribute a large portion of the profits to helping children in need to overcome poverty, hunger, the affects of abuse and various other hardships. The remaining profits will be used to create our next line of products that will in turn be used to raise more funds for those in need.
